Stroke Center

It’s better to begin treatment sooner once stroke occurs

To treat patients who have suffered from stroke, the center combines modern medical treatments with traditional Korean Medicine medical treatments including herbal medicines, acupuncture, electrical acupuncture, herbal exercises, and Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulation (TENS), interferential current treatment, and body constitution therapy. Through Western- and Korean Medicine-medicine collaboration, the center provides optimized care for patients based on phased treatment plans consisting of emergency care for acute diseases in their early stages and treatment for chronic disorders.

Along with cancer and heart disease, stroke is one of the leading causes of death for adults. Stroke paralyzes people or causes speech impairments. It is caused by damage to brain tissues when the blood vessels in the brain explode or get blocked. Upon occurrence, stroke not only increases mortality rates but also causes a variety of sequelae such as mobile, speech, and cognitive impairments in surviving patients. Leading causes of stroke include types of body constitution with a lot of anger and body wastes, fatigue and enervation, hypertension, diabetes, heart disease, and hyperlipidemia. Inducing factors include careless intake, stress, fatigue, excessive drinking, and smoking.
